About Parkinson's SA

Parkinson's SA provides support and information for those affected by Parkinson's disease (Pd) and other movement disorders in South Australia. The challenge for people with Pd is to manage their condition so they can enjoy quality of life. In recognising the varied needs of people with Parkinson's (PWP), the organisation directs its activities towards programs that encourage self management of the condition.

Parkinson's SA has a few essential staff supported by enthusiastic volunteers.
The organisation does not give advice on individual medical matters and treatment, but works closely with its medical advisors and other professionals.

The Aims of Parkinson's SA Include:

  • Providing direct services to assist people with Parkinson’s and their families in coping with management problems arising from the condition.

  • Providing information to people with Parkinson’s, their carers and health professionals.

  • Facilitating referral to appropriate community resources.

  • Promoting public awareness through community education.
