Voluntary Help

The Parkinson’s office in Unley is assisted by a number of skilled volunteers helping with administrative tasks, including mail outs, the newsletter, the Library, the website and thanking donors.

Volunteers are also valued for their assistance at events such as A Walk in the Park and other fundraising events.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer contact the office on 08 8357 8909 or email info@parkinsonssa.org.au. Because of the confidential nature of our work, all our volunteers agree to undertake a Police Check.

Support Group Leaders Needed

Parkinson’s SA is always seeking volunteer Group Leaders for Support Groups.

If you are retired, semi-retired or have some time to spare, and have skills and interest in working with people affected by Parkinson's we would love to hear from you.

Groups are run monthly for 2 hours and comprise of people diagnosed with Parkinson’s and family members/carers. Meetings may include a guest speaker, sharing of coping tips and social time. For many people living with Parkinson’s this provides their only opportunity to socialise.

We are currently seeking Group Leaders for the following areas:

  • Burnside

  • North East (Tea Tree Gully)

If you live in other metropolitan areas or the country we would be keen to hear from you as we are always seeking to develop new groups to support people with Parkinson’s and their family members.

Training and ongoing support will be provided.
